This four day class is an in-depth study of the newest revision of the industry standard IPC-A-610 Revision D.
This new revision includes criteria on lead free solder joint criteria and much more specific criteria on the accept/reject criteria for BGA’s as well as a general reformatting that makes the document much easier to navigate.
The successful candidate should have a basic understanding of the automated and rework soldering processes to relate certain criteria back to the process that created the issue. Also, the student should be comfortable in relating specific criteria to an audience of peers and others as required.

The student must prove their mastery of the specification by passing a 75 question open book test and a 50 question closed book test with a cumulative score not less than 80%.
If successful the candidate will be issued an official IPC certification that will allow them to certify individuals to the Certified IPC Specialist level.
